The history of ‘The Margate Dress’, began when the daughter of the recently appointed Mayoress of Margate, Karen Brinkman, purchased her wedding dress from Novo Bridal. Karen was so impressed by the service of Novo Bridal, Margate’s prestigious Bridal business was invited to join Thanet Female Founders and other key business initiatives.

'Dress History'

After the recent announcement of the new Mayor and Mayoress of Margate and Novo Bridal already participating in the 2024 Year of Collaborating campaign, they felt compelled to show their support not only for Karen but also for their beloved hometown of Margate. In a bold and generous move, Novo Bridal reached out to internationally acclaimed designer Veni Infantino. Known for her award-winning designs, Veni Infantino had already chosen Margate as one of the select few locations to stock her exquisite range. Novo Bridal asked if Veni would supply a dress for the Mayoress to wear to the highly anticipated Dreamland Heritage Trust Gala Dinner and Charity Auction.

The Dreamland Heritage Trust Gala Dinner is a highlight of the social calendar, celebrating the rich history of the iconic Dreamland Margate, which has been a cornerstone of Margate for over a century. This year's gala held on 3rd July, was particularly special, with Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway MBE, the visionary creators of the iconic fashion brand Red or Dead, as the special guests.
Veni Infantino, excited about this initiative and collaboration, ‘The Margate Dress’ was born. Dressed in the elegance and sophistication of Veni Infantino's design, worn at the Dreamland Heritage Trust Gala Dinner, the Mayoress shone as a beacon of Margate's bright future.

on 15th February 2025!

Win 'The Margate Dress', a stunning gown worn just once and available in size 14. Proceeds from this collaboration will support the Mayor's Charity Fund, helping individuals charities and organisations across the Margate wards.
