Social Traffic Versus Buyer Traffic
Each day approximately 1.47 billion people are on Facebook which is a large amount of traffic by any standard.
Unlike going to a website such as Amazon which only has hundred 197 million visitors per month as of 2017, the folks that are going to Amazon are going to it for one reason – to purchase a product.
Visitors to Facebook are not looking for something to buy, they are looking for a social connection. So if you’re going to market to the people who visit Facebook you need to do it in a social context.
Don't SPAM….
Rather than saying something like “Lose Weight Fast with XYZ Product Order Yours Today!” you need to compose your offer in a more casual or covert way. If you’re creating an ad and it looks like spam you’re going to lose your ad account.
No Links On Your Posts
If you write a post with links to a sales page your post will only be seen by a few people because Facebook has algorithms running continuously to prevent people from being pulled off its platform. Curiosity posts do exactly what the name implies they create curiosity in the reader. Rather than hitting the reader with a blatant ad on your product or service you draw your potential customer in with a story.
Buying Needs To Be Their Idea…
Every week on TV we watch an episode of our favorite show only to be left hanging after 60 minutes, wondering what’s gonna happen on the next episode. Because they have us hooked, like robots, we are stationed in front of our TV set seven days later to watch the next episode.
Below are some examples and guidelines of how you can create your own curiosity posts to attract customers to your business.
Creating Curiosity Posts
(Remember – Facts Tell but Stories Sell)
· Get People to reach out to you
· Do something to encourage their reaching out

Curiosity Post Marketing Formula Begin with A Hook: [An attention-grabbing sentence]
I was talking to Gail a friend that I work with the other day and she blew me away when she told me she stays at Luxury Resorts on her holidays each year that normally cost $1500 to $2500 a week and she only pays $300 to stay at them.
Share a Before and After Story: [An attention-grabbing sentence]
I just about fell out my chair when she said she Paid under $300 Whaaaaaaat???? Under $300? She smiled and said that she and her husband had been getting these rates for the past 3 years. She told me they have stayed in Resorts all around the world and are loving it as she pulled out her phone and showed me a bunch of photos.
Take Away: [eliminates buyer resistance and sales feeling]
I don’t know if staying at Luxury Resorts that Normally sell for $1500 to $2500 or more a week and now get them for under $300 puts a smile on your face… but after talking to Gail that night Pat and I had difficulty sleeping. We were way past EXCITED. “Goodbye Tent Trailer!”
