Warm Market Leads
When I first began network marketing the closest that I had ever come to doing that was car sales. The objective in car sales is to sell a vehicle and hopefully create a repeat customer. In network marketing, however, the objective is to bring a new marketer on your team and then introduce your product and business to people that he knows. What I did was completely wrong, I went into the salesman mode. I sold people on the idea of joining with me and then went on to do the same with another and then another.
Purchased Leads
After I had asked used up all of my warm markets, I decided to begin using purchased leads. I thought this would be a great alternative because I didn’t need to feel like it was monetizing everybody that I knew. Plus the people that I would be calling actually wanted to begin a home-based business. What I found out was I was buying a lot of phone numbers of people who had absolutely no interest in doing anything related to a home-based business. Anyone who had some interest has been called dozens of times and had long since lost any desire to talk to somebody about working from home. In fact, I think I got hung up on at least 20 to 30 times a day.
Purchased Leads That Actually Built My Team
After a very horrible experience with purchase leads, I was introduced to a fellow that was doing radio advertising. These leads cost quite a bit more beginning at five dollars a piece. This is quite a jump from one and two dollars apiece that I have been paying before. But the great thing about them was I was able to recruit anywhere from 2 to 3 people out of every 10 people that I called. I became so successful with them that I was having upwards of 500 to 1000 people listening to me make my recruiting calls. Even though I was successful with this form of advertising it was expensive and I still was not creating duplication by getting into the warm market of the people that I was bringing into my team.
What I Finally Discovered
In a restaurant in Florida while attending a convention I spoke with a $1 million earner and he told me that he wanted to work with me and that he believed that would do much better if I started working with my new people’s our market. Unfortunately, the leader that I had in my business took most of my team with them to another company. The upside is that I learned a very valuable lesson “network marketing is not sales”.
Video Leads – Don't Stop There!
Since 2008 I have been working online with video and have been trained by a number of very powerful network marketers that use social media and video to promote their businesses. They believe that video and social media are great vehicles to market products and services on the Internet. But once again network marketing is not sales if you want to be successful in network marketing you need to introduce yourself to the friends of all the new people that you bring into your team so that they can build their warm market quickly.
A Pandemic Effect In Your Lead Generation and Recruiting
Network marketing is often described as viral marketing, so if you want to be successful don’t sell-network! Become the next big virus to hit your community. You have to decide from the beginning that you don't want to be a salesman, you want to be a network marketer. Teacher new people how to generate leads on autopilot with video. My recommendation is also that you use systems that can automate how you train people so that you can leverage your time to build your business faster. Each person that you bring into your team should be educated on how to do the same thing that you're doing so that you get duplication happening. The systems that you use need to be simple so that everyone that joins feels that they can do the same thing that you're doing.
