What Christmas Really Means - Saved By God's Grace And Not Works

salvation, grace, rebirth, born again

The passages below explain so well why Christ had to come. It's the basic message of salvation by grace and not by works - nothing we could do from our side - other than to accept the Christmas gift from God our Father.

"It is not by works that we are saved lest anyone boasts" - is the core of the message here. Drink it in if you are a disciple.

If you are still a seeker then bow your knees and receive the gift of God in King Jesus - and be re-created, reborn of the Spirit.

You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. Ephesians 2:8-9 (CEV)

Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish!

We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. Ephesians 2:7-9 MSG
