Sometimes we get so attracted by the object of temptation that we don't want to be stopped. We also justify ourselves that the power of temptation is too strong to resist.

The Word of God clearly says that this is false thinking, a lie to ourselves and a lie from the enemy. There is always strength and wisdom from God to resist and to find a way out, enduring the pressure.

We need to remember that God's power is made perfect in our weakness and in our weaker moments. 2 Corinthians 12:9

According to New Testament teaching there are three primary ways we get tempted:
a) The pride of life
b) The lust of the flesh
c) The lust of the eyes

"For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world." 1 John 2:16

It really helps when we are aware of these three categories or types of temptation as they are directions from which we may be attacked.

What we know from Jesus first direct confrontation with the enemy is that each of the temptations covered these three ways of being tempted (Matthew 4:1-11) and He resisted using the Word of God (Old Testament) to expose the lies and counter the attack.

We have many tools today - many Scriptures, many heroes of faith, videos, audios, podcasts and more, to strengthen our resolve to withstand the enemy of our soul.

You may often want to do wrong things. The things that are difficult for you are difficult for other people too. Remember that God is always there to help you. He will not let any bad thing be too difficult for you. He will help you to stand against it. When you want to do something wrong, God will make you strong in your spirit. He will show you a way out, so that you do not do anything wrong. 1 Corinthians 10:13 EASY (Easy English Bible 2018)

The New Living Translation says:
"The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." 1 Corinthians 10:13
