Loving What I Do, Doing What I Love

An important question to ask oneself I believe is: "What do I love doing?" And following on from that, "Can I do more of what I love doing?" Even if -- and maybe especially if -- it means making changes, such as to daily habits, routines, comfort zones ... and a big one -- facing and overcoming fear.

On a personal level, something I love doing is getting up early and going for a walk, jog, run.

Such as these past few days. Those living in Cape Town or reading about it will know about the 'adverse' weather conditions we have been experiencing. Let me also add immediately I am extremely fortunate given the conditions I am very fortunate to live in.

I don't set out when it is pouring with rain, but I do recall very vividly practising and playing sport in rain and wind and cold as a youngster. So why not exercise in this natural weather?  Surely, behaving like a child again, when appropriate, brings back happy memories of fun and light-heartedness and carefree days. The fact that I happen to be in the late stage of the third quarter of a century does not preclude me from experiencing youthful vigour and vitality out in Nature, albeit sometimes along tree-lined suburban roads.

Just writing about this, re-experiencing the naturalness of it all, induces emotional 'highs' while consistently inwardly expressing my gratitude for my health and fitness and appreciation and enjoyment of ... LIFE. LOVING LIFE.
