"Human Nature" sung by Michael Jackson recorded in 1982 from his Thriller album. Steve Porcaro composed the song and wrote the original lyrics. The addition of this song into the album was unintentional because the original lyrics were unsuitable for the album's theme. However, when the cassette demo "auto-reverse", an eerie silence and incoherent lyric followed. The album producer, Quincy Jones found the composition interesting enough to add into the album. However, Jones asked John Betts to rewrite the lyrics.

Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam sung the R&B song "All Cried Out" in 1985 and became eighth in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1986. The American R&B group, Allure, covered the song in 1997, which peaked at number 4 in Billboard Hot 100, number 9 in Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, and number 7 in the US Billboard Mainstream top 40 charts.

Sung by Debra Laws in 1981, "Very Special" peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard R&B chart and was number 90 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has been a subject of lawsuits when Big Daddy Kane and Jennifer Lopez covered the song in 1993 and 2003 respectively. The cover by Jennifer Lopez in 2003 raised the song to number one in the US.

"Dreams" is performed by Chicago soul band Smoke City from their album I Really Want You. It was their second single in the album. The album has a combination of romantic, funk, and jam.
