Teddy Pendergrass 5 Top Songs Lives On
Teddy Pendergrass is one of the most inspiring African American singers of all time. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a place that is commonly known in giving rise to great musicians. Early in his career, he realized his true talent and became the leader of a famous singing group called Herold Melvin & The Bluenotes.
Teddy Pendergrass decide to go solo and left Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes in the year 1976, after a series of disputes. He quickly became a superstar during solo career and released five inspiring albums using the Philadelphia international tag which made him even more famous.
Teddy then proceeded further and set up a record of becoming a legend of R&B and soul music. However, his career suffered a blow in 1982 when he was paralyzed after getting in a severe car accident. During his lifelong recovery, his career continued until the year 2007, when he decided to retire. Teddy Pendergrass died on January 13, 2010, after complications with battling colon cancer.
