March 20th 2020: Google Suspending Review and Q&A Functionality

During the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, Google is temporarily suspending some functionality.

Google has stated that as a precautionary health measure for their support staff and in light of COVID-19, they are operating with a limited team.

The following Google services are effected.

Reviews and Google Q&A

New reviews, review replies, and new Q&A will be unavailable during this time. 

  • No new Google reviews will be pulled into Reputation Management Express or Pro 
  • Clients will be unable to respond to reviews 
  • All actions related to Google Q&A will be unavailable

Business information edits 

Google has said that they will be prioritizing reviews for edits critical to health-related businesses.

"At this time, we will also prioritize reviews for open and closed states, special hours, temporary closures, business descriptions, and business attributes edits for other verified businesses."

Newly created listings, claims, and verifications

"Our support team will manually review new listings, claims, and verifications for critical health-related businesses. While we prioritize these critical services, please expect a delay for publication of new listings, claims, and verifications for other types of businesses to Google Search and Maps."

Reviews and Q&A
